You can sub in different ingredients, depending on what you are avoiding (ie butter for coconut butter) and the kids love it!

I have seen a variation with white beans! 
I think I will add sultanas too.

Yes, I have seen that some people have used them and I was speaking to a friend today who was planning on using chia seeds (mixed with water to make the 'jelly'), to make it egg free too. I will be interested to see how she goes
