Date and Oat Biscuits - sugar free! Empty Date and Oat Biscuits - sugar free!

I whipped up some sugar-free date and sultana oat biscuits for the kids and my goodness are they tasty! I have adapted a basic oat biscuits recipe that was full of sugar and have turned it into something guilt free and delicious, which, when taken to a friend's house for morning tea, were gone in no time.

Ingredients:
120g medjool (fresh) dates, pits removed
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
80g butter
50g wholemeal flour
50g plain flour
1tsp baking powder
100g quick oats
1 tbsp milk
1/4-1/2 cup of sultanas (approximately - these are completely optional and to taste)

Method
Chop date flesh for approximately 20 sec, speed 6 until finely chopped or almost smooth
Add egg and vanilla and butter. The butter should be softened or you can soften it in Bella by turning it on for 10-15 sec, speed 1, 37C.
Beat for 20 sec, speed 6.
Add sifted flours and baking powder, a pinch of salt, the oats and sultanas and mix well, approx 20-30 seconds speed 3 to start then down to speed 2 (don't let the machine struggle).
Add milk and mix for a further 20 seconds, speed 2/3.

Either using moistened hands or a couple of teaspoons shape into walnut sized balls, place on baking tray lined with paper and flatten slightly with the back of a fork.
Bake in a pre-heated, moderate oven at 180C for 10-15 minutes until just brown around the edges. Cool on a wire rack.
Makes around 24 biscuits.
